Time + Tide Foundation (TTF) is the philanthropic arm of Time + Tide Africa, a tourism company. It facilitates education, and economic opportunities for low-resource and historically underserved communities in Zambia and Madagascar. Reaching over 600 beneficiaries and a much wider reach of approximately 19,000 indirect and secondary beneficiaries in 300 villages in communities adjacent to where Time + Tide has property. Our direct programme beneficiaries include children with special needs, pre-adolescent girls and women without formal education. This presentation will provide an overview of our work, the models we employ to ensure the rights of children are upheld; and how we leverage the strengths and opportunities presented by our stakeholders to ensure holistic child wellbeing. Further, the safeguarding mechanisms TTF has in place for associates, parents, community caregivers and staff will be outlined. This includes the vetoing process for volunteer community caregivers and T+TF staff, facilitating field trips for children, community awareness activities, training and orientation. This will be in the context of our Zambian sites, taking into consideration country-specific child-related legislation
